Running bowl thread

Right. Because your views on the SEC are uncolored and free from bias. You've never taken an on-the-field result to mean anything more than one game. OK then. Sure thing.

And I'm sure Cincinnati's offensive struggles were purely due to the loss of its coach and quarterback, and nothing to do with Florida's defense.

I have no bias against the SEC but I do happen to think it is a very good conference with a bunch of delusional and slobbering fans who have a hard time admitting that maybe, just maybe, they play some good football in other conferences across the country.

And maybe we'd have a lot more ability to determine what results mean if most of the SEC teams played someone other Charleston Southern in their non-conference schedule once in a while.......

I'm not going down that road with you again. I've disproven this meme over and over and over again.

Suffice it to say, 11 of 12 SEC teams played at least one BCS-conference opponent, and 11 of 12 SEC teams played at least one non-con game away from home. And the one in each scenario wasn't the same team.

Wow, one BCS conference game? That is really going out on a limb there.... ::)

Remind me again - when was the last time Florida played a nonconference BCS opponent not named Miami or Florida State? How about the last time the Gators left the state of Florida for a non-conference game?

Well, Georgia played three. I defy you to find me a BCS-conference school with more.

It's not as though anyone else covers themselves in glory when it comes to these things.

Florida's is embarrassing, sure. But if you want to pick on Florida, then pick on Florida. Otherwise, the SEC has done at least as much, collectively, as any other conference.

SEC fanboys make excuses for every bowl loss -- nobody, at least nobody on here, has tried to make an arguement that Cincinnati was better than Florida. Not one.

Nobody --- no bleeping body --- has made any excuses for ANY SEC bowl loss this year, let alone "every" bowl loss.

Let. It. Go. The only thing worse than making the same statement 245 times is making a grossly inaccurate and/or exaggerated statement 245 times.

Good.thing.you.put.the.qualifier.in.of.THIS.YEAR.....although the whining about the bad turf "taking away LSU's speed advantage" in the whateverhorseshirtbowlitwas between LSU and Penn State was a little ridiculous..

And, of course, I heard more excuses for Alabama last year, Tennessee the year they lost to Penn State, Georgia when they lost to WVU and any other time an SEC team lost a high profile game.

On the XM Radio broadcast earlier it was noted that a MAC team has never won a bowl.
Central Michigan (-3 1/2) trails Troy State 31-26 late in the fourth quarter at Mobile in the GMAC Bowl.
Can't believe MAC teams have never won a bowl.

That is incorrect. MAC teams have won bowls.

1987: Eastern Michigan defeated San Jose State in the California Bowl.

Central also won the Motor City Bowl in 2004 (I think that was the year).

I'd also have to look it up, but I would find it hard to believe Miami, Ohio (Ben Roethilisberger) or Marshall (Byron Leftwich) never won a bowl.

Great finish to the GMAC bowl tonight too. Double OT. Central wins with a field goal after blocking a field goal attempt.

So, in other words, nobody has said anything this year. But go ahead on and bench and yap about last year, if that's all you've got.

???

MAC teams won six of seven Tangerine Bowl appearances from 1969 to 1975, with a 1972 victory by the University of Tampa separating three-game T-Bowl winning streaks by Toledo (69-71) and Miami (Ohio) (73-75). Miami has been in the MAC since 1948, Toledo since 1951.

Miami, Marshall (when it was a MAC member), Bowling Green and Toledo have all recorded wins in the GMAC Bowl. Marshall (when it was a MAC member), Toledo, Bowling Green and Central Michigan have all won at least one appearance each in the Motor City Bowl.

Really? SEC fanboys haven't whined about the horrible field conditions in the Capital One bowl negating "LSU's SEC Southern Speed" and thus allowing "slow, plodding" Penn State to catch up and eek out a win?

We must all be hearing voices again..... ::)

I just went through every post from Jan. 1 on this thread. The only thing ANYBODY said about LSU was that the personal foul at the end was bullshirt and even that poster said it wouldn't have mattered because Miles would have forked it up, anyway.

So, be so kind as to point me in the direction of the SEC folks complaining about the field conditions and I'll admit you were right and STFU. Otherwise, I'll just assume you're talking out of your ass again.
