    Never too early for the giving of thanks, and clearly we have things we are grateful for 365 days of the year...


    Thank you neighborhood kids. For not cleaning out the bowl of candy I left on my doorstep, and even leaving me a Reese's. (I've lived some places where I work nights, left a bowl of candy and the punks even take the bowl!)

    Other than our good health, the thing I am most thankful for -- day in, day out -- is that Mrs. t_b_f and I can put good, healthy meals in front of our children every night.

    Coming from a lower middle class family from a dirt road in Alabama and living in some of the poorest places in America, I see daily the blessing we have.
