That makes more sense. You know, Charlie Hayes wasn't a bad ballplayer. But how many of us will remember him for anything other than catching the final out of the 1996 World Series?

Great baserunning, by the way. Nice way to end it.

Actual comment from my shop after the overslide:

    Wow, that's Cub-esque!

I wasn't actually watching, did someone try to stretch a hit into a double and get thrown out?

Nope. It was an over-slide of second.

He was still safe after having slid inexplicably past the bag with his feet and grabbing it with his hands, but couldn't hold on.

The lost art of the pop-up slide...

University of British Columbia. But I am pretty sure they compete in conference/region tournaments in the US if I remember correctly from college.
I know they were always playing my alma mater.

Actually, I think UBC may be a NAIA D-II school now that I think about it.

You know you'll be watching the premier episode. We'll all be watching. In fact, there will probably be a thread about it.

    I think it's the latter. NAIA D-II.

If that idiot Sager calls the Rockies' tear of winning 18 of 19 games a "streak" again ... I guess I'll just become more irritated. If he wants to call it a seven-game win streak or a 19-game stretch, I'm cool with that. But is 18 of 19 a streak?
