Schlock Mercenary

...is a webcomic I love and have read for years. Howard Tayler just finished a twenty year + run without missing a day and has gone on hiatus. Since I found myself deprived of my daily fix, I began to re-read it. In doing so I hit a sequence that made me laugh very hard, marvel at several of his lines, and which struck me as an ideal introduction to share the comic. I'm going to drop you on 3/27/2003 and ask that you read through 4/20. That should be enough to hook you if you're going to be, and even if it doesn't it's still entertaining.

The comic is about space mercenaries. The title character is Sgt. Schlock, an amorph who resembles nothing so much as an ambulatory pile of poop. You'll get the rest from context.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Edit: Schlock's species only have one orifice, which he eats, speaks, breathes and excretes through. That's why, when issued equipment, he sticks it in his mouth. It also serves as his pocket.
