anyway ...

i was hanging out with some religious types of july 4 weekend at the beach ... and we got into talking about religion (she's a hard-core catholic) and this bible-toting female said something to those lines.

i still dont get it. i could have sworn the jews, post WW2, simple went back to israel, displaced whoever was living there, and took 'their' land back. now whether or not they gave this land away wayyyyyyyyy back is debateable (from what i've read, that's what happened). i cannot think of a logic explanation for this. what about just letting the people who were displaced back onto their land, and let the people currently living there deal with it?

isn't that what happened in the us? you've got american indians living on reservations that are holy land? and if they want to sell out that holy land to build a casino, so be it!!

 

But keep in mind that Israel is slightly larger than Delaware and a lot smaller than NJ. Israel won additional land back in the 70s when other Arab nations attacked and lost. Israel has given back some of that additional land to the Palestinians and Hamas has used it to launch attacks. Hezbolah, attacking from the north, ha's goal is wipe Israel off the map. Israel has a right to defend itself.

Imagine if the US was the size of NJ and had Delaware as occupied territory, while the Indians still lived in and controlled NY, PA and MD and were attacking the US. As part of a peace initiative the US gives Delaware back to the Indians. Yet the attacks from a radical Indian group keep coming. Which of the following should the US (which keep in mind is as small as NJ) do? Give up more land so the Indians can have their peace of NJ or do they fight back and invade NY to attack and wipe out the radical group?
