Well it *is* Seattle, where it supposedly is rainy and gray all the time...either way, listen to her and ride it out. Then bone it like you own it ;)

That isn't gonna happen, she plays for the other team. Which is a dilemma I have run into more in Seattle than anywhere I have ever lived.

Here's a question I'll bring here because, hey, the last thing we need is another useless thread cluttering up the boards...

A friend of mine from years back recently moved to my neck of the woods and, naturally, he wants to find someone out there who's more than a one-night stand. He's coming from one of the five largest cities in the country; I live in a rather middle-sized metropolitan area that's nothing close to that big.

I'm in a long-term relationship, so I'm not too hip on the whole "meeting girls" aspect of life because I really don't need to be. He wanted to go out, hit up a few places and see what escalated.

Well...nothing, of course. In addition to my complete unfamiliarity with the bar scene, preventing me from being a good guide, I don't have the slightest idea of how to approach girls in that setting. Pete was utterly incompetent with doing so - which astonished me, in a way, given that this was his idea of how to get by in the city.

Among the things I kept trying to figure out: How does one approach girls? What signs do you look for when it comes to girls who might be trying to meet guys? More importantly for me ... what does the wingman do in such a situation, other than take the less-desirable one and try to keep conversation going?

Thanks to all who can chip in...

Let me know if you get the answer. I've long wondered.

How about just walk up to her and say, "Hi"?

It's not as hard as people make it out to be. I start conversations with women all the time.

Try this line: "Hi, I'm a Super Genius. Impressed yet?"
