Smokin' hot wife

Tell me if I'm wrong, but this feels like a manufactured "controversy" if I've ever seen one.

The basics: Pastor gives invocation at NASCAR race. Gives thanks to, among others, his "smokin' hot wife." CNN says reaction has been "mixed," but I can't seem to find anyone who thinks it's anything but awesome.

The only problem I see is that he told a lie.

I will not be breaking the 9th Commandment in regards to his wife.

 

I like to picture Jesus in a tuxedo T-Shirt because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party.

Sorry, man but it's embarrassing to me as a southerner and a NASCAR fan.

It should also be embarrassing to anyone with any semblance of a belief in God (I am not included in the decision).. Thy ask you to come and offer a prayer over the event and that's what you bring? Thankful for Ford, GM, Penske Power and your Smokin' Hot Wife - which might be funny if true (if you're married to Marissa Miller). But the fact your wife is NOT in fact smokin' hot is embarrassing.
Also this kind of buffoonery reinforces the hick fan shit and hillbilly stereotypes (aka Ricky Bobby) that already stuck to the sport and its fans.

I won't say they aren't making a mountain out a molehill, but since you asked .. I think it was a lot of things and Awesome is not one them.

I think CNN should have referenced some of the backlash then, if they were writing about the "mixed reaction." There is no indication in the CNN story of the other side.

 

I don't think it's in anyway controversial, though it is unoriginal. The "smokin' hot wife" line is lifted directly out of "Talladega Nights."
