Yikes. Bad timing for THIS to be the repeat tonight. :(

It's hard to come up with one as bad as this. They've had plenty of shitty acts over the years, but at least the others had resumes. Sisqo had a hit. Lana Del Rey has nice write-ups in British magazines and two pretty awful songs, with no ability to perform on-stage.

In February they have Karmin booked; remarkably, they seem to have found a band with less of a resume than Lana Del Rey.

Yeah, but it's music, so I think they're kind of damned if they do, damned if they don't. I'm sure if they stuck with just established acts, you'd hear complaining that they no longer gave the Elvis Costellos and what not of the world a big forum to reach a larger audience. But if you go after people like Lana Del Rey, some of them are going to be stinkers. (Although, I'm not sure why I'm defending them so much anyway - I think the music acts serve as piss breaks for most people, since at best, you're still turning off a portion of the audience that just doesn't like that genre.)

Only caught the last 20 minutes of this one, which I understand was a repeat (right?). Who in the hell is Emma Stone? Never heard of her, didn't recognize her and she was just a mediocre nothing. OK, I get that they feel obligated to grab the flavor of the month, however that's defined, but this was a waste of a guest simply because she was utterly indistinguishable from the regular cast members. Why bother?

Emma Stone's a pretty big name. Four major movie hits in the last three years, and she's starring in the upcoming Spiderman movie.

Sweet Jesus. Who hasn't heard of Emma Stone?

    Me.

Granted, I don't claim to be on the cusp of pop culture awareness. But I ain't some damn hermit, either. If she was in some big movies, they escaped my highly attuned radar. :D

    Sweet Jesus, indeed.

Emma Stone has appeared in 11 movies that have earned a combined $619 million.

I haven't seen any of those, except for Superbad (on TV), which I thought was overrated.

And Marmaduke doesn't count, because it was a voiceover, and because ... just, Marmaduke.

I don't care if you've SEEN them. If you never saw a single commercial for, nor mention of, Crazy Stupid Love then you are, indeed, a hermit.

I guess I'm vaguely familiar with that movie, and I must have seen a commercial for it at some point. I IMDb-ed it, and it appears to have all the earmarks of a movie that I would eliminate from the watch list after one viewing of said commercial. My Emma Stone ignorance is just a natural byproduct of that.

I love Steve Carell, but I'm Steve Carell-ed out.

Now, I have to get back to building my spaceship.

Well, you really should stop by "The Help" before that spaceship is finished.
