It didn't get to that point. I pulled my name out of consideration when I got home. Just felt uncomfortable vibes about Ginny and felt I could not work for her.

Should have followed through just for giggles and shits to see where it would land. But I do respect your move.

Why don't you take this job, boots? Sounds like they could use your talent, and you apparently know Ginny reasonably well, so you might be able to handle it better.

They have a sports editor. His name is Ian.

Okay, but I heard this crazy rumor that Martinsville has a lot of turnover in sports. So if it opens up again, why not go for it?

I'm fine where I am. Perhaps it might be good for you.

It's not, but you seem so sure of yourself regarding Martinsville that it might be you could be the steadying presence they so badly need.

What in the hell are you talking about? My only posts about this job was naming the guy who got it.

In this thread, yes. But you've had plenty to say about M'Ville in other threads.

Not really. It is what it is.

I'm enjoying this free-spirited exchange but I can see playthrough reaching for the lockdown key at any moment ...

"Martinsville prides itself on being local. The theory works in many places but Henry County is a very poor county. All the people there want to see is the names of people they know.
No, Ginny will not stand up for here staff when a complaint is made and that's sad. She knows that without the public, the paper would fold, but there are times when she could and should show support. It would cut down on the turnover.
The pay could be much, much. much better but remember, profit is the name of the game with any business."

"Melock, she was only doing what she has to do keep a job. She curse the publisher out and then what? She's out of a job. You know she wouldn't be hired anywhere else. She's stuck and I feel sorry for her in some ways."

"This is unbelieveable. It's a rotten place to work and you're actually trying to find photos of Ginny Wray? For what Earthly reason? You want to make jokes about how she looks?
Here's a novel idea, put your picture out on the web."

And that's not including the 20 or so other posts on Martinsville threads that, like so many of your 9,385 posts, were one-liners completely devoid of any insight.

Care to spin another yarn, Blarney?
