SPORTS EDITOR
Love sports? Join our team in Winsted, MN at Herald Journal.
We are seeking a full-time sports editor for our weekly newspaper covering multiple communities. The winning candidate will be responsible for all local sports coverage in print and online, plus occasional editorial assignments and assisting with our sister newspapers.
This is your opportunity to share the stories of our local teams and shine a light on local athletes.
Preferred qualifications:
• Previous sports writing experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills and a familiarity with InDesign and Photoshop
• Desire to work in a deadline-driven environment
• An ability to manage multiple priorities
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Superior grammar skills
• Ability to work days, nights, and weekends
• Local community knowledge/involvement. Primary coverage area includes Winsted, Lester Prairie, Howard Lake, Mayer, New Germany, and Waverly, MN
