The Waco Tribune-Herald is seeking a full-time page designer to produce our daily sports section. The position will edit sports copy, design and build daily pages and special sections and work with our sports staff to produce quality content for our print and online products. Our designers benefit from an award-winning photography staff. The Tribune-Herald is part of Berkshire-Hathaway Media Group. Full range of benefits included, plus room for advancement. Waco is home to Baylor University and located 90 minutes from Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin. In-Design proficiency required, as well as bachelor's degree in journalism or related field. Will consider work experience for non-degreed candidates. To apply, send resume and clips to Steve Boggs, editor, at sboggs@wacotrib.com.

I'm the sports editor at the Trib. We actually hired two designers in sports last March, and both did excellent work. Both have now moved to writing positions, one on the news side, the other in sports. We've filled one of the designer openings left vacated by their moves, but are still looking to fill the other.

We cover Baylor and Big 12 sports extensively, as well as roughly 60 high schools in the Central Texas area. We also have a junior college, McLennan Community College, in Waco that has several athletic programs.
