Sports writer/editor, PERFORM | Charlotte, NC

PERFORM Sports Content and Media is seeking a part-time sports writer/editor to join its Omnisport team based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Omnisport is a global, multi-sport news service providing editorial and video content to a worldwide client list including Sporting News, Yahoo, MSN and Goal.com.

This position is primarily on the editorial side and is slotted mostly for night and weekend work, with a target of 2-3 shifts per week. This is not a remote position; candidates must be able to work from the Charlotte office.

The successful candidate will have:
—News writing and editing experience, preferably in sports
—Experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom environment
—Sound news judgment
—Knowledge of AP style
—Familiarity with social media platforms

Preferred qualifications:
—Strong editing background
—Basketball expertise, both NBA and college
—Video experience (script-writing/production/editing/on-camera)
