JR, you're right, it is obscure. But Beef is close -- he got the city right, anyway. :)

Huggy would have nailed this one, I bet. Anyway, Murray and Pronger were teammates with the Stratford Cullitons in 1990-91. Murray was a Stratford native and a holdover from the 1989-90 season, when the Cullies won the Ontario championship, while Pronger was a 16-year-old rookie in from Dryden, Ontario.

Murray ended up at Michigan State University and Pronger was also bound for college, aiming to follow in the footsteps of his brother Sean, who was at Bowling Green. But the Peterborough Petes convinced him to leave Stratford and give the OHL a try, and the rest is history.

I'm duly impressed. I cheated and tried googling and still couldn't find anything. All the stats stopped with their OHL/University teams. I guess you have to be #99 to have your minor Atom stats posted.

Does Roloson still get any consideration for Conn Smythe?

Yet a player from the losing team can win it - Ron Hextall, Philadelphia, 1987.

Justin Williams played for Plymouth, yes.  Thanks for holding off, Fly.

And he holds the dubious, if increasingly common, distinction of being absolutely steamrolled by Raffi Torres' possum move at the 2000 CHL Top Prospects game.

Where did Sergei Samsonov play the year immediately preceding his rookie season in Boston?

I never thought about this before, but the Oilers must have the highest number of Canadian-born NCAAers in the league.  Off the top of my head, I've got Horcoff, Pisani, Roloson, and Murray.

    Please show me where:
    a. I ragged on LeBrun (as a matter of fact, I said he worked his ass off)
    and
    b. you're able to come up with an original thought process instead of just standing on the sideline waiting to pounce when you think someone is insuliting me.

There were, in fact, five who won the Conn Smythe and did not win the Cup. Hextall always stands out to me.

Oh and Recchi at 7:56 of the third with the Conn Smythe going to Cam Ward. No pick necessary for the Oilers because they ain't winning tonight.
