ill be shocked if weight plays. guys who were watching him at the skate this morning said he couldnt shoot or pass the puck. and sources say those skills are important in hockey.

as for the smythe, mactavish said yesterday that pronger was the best player in all four series the oilers played. i think he will get it over pisani, unless pisani scores a late cup-winner. if he scores in the second and edmonton wins 4-0 -- like saturday -- id bet pronger wins it. the hurricane will get decided tonight. brind'amour, ward, staal and stillman all have a shot. if one of them is the major factor and carolina wins, that player would likely get the smythe.

The NFL's exactitude when it comes to injury reports is for the gamblers. And they lie even more.

A few years back, the Blue Jays announced that they would stop giving injury updates to the media, as Ricciardi felt a player's personal medical situation is not anybody's business. But they quickly relented. Haven't heard of any other teams doing that.

Oh and by the way, I'm just going to giggle, snort and point at you for the next couple of minutes. OK?

I've always wondered what it is that would make someone sacrifice the potential future use of a major limb for the sake of playing in a big game. But then again, I played through slo-pitch playoffs with a torn rotator cuff, so I guess I should get it.
But the nights when I can't sleep because of the residual scar tissue make me wonder now why I did it.

    Better get new sources.

It's the old "keep 'em guessing" routine. Still, if he plays, not as shocking as Cole playing on Saturday night.

    For the McGuire fans ...

The suggestion is to turn down the sound on your NBC broadcast and listen to the radio or Internet stream.
Line of the thread: And if Ryan Smith crosses his legs, Pierre is going to break his glasses.

Who the hell is Chuck Kaiton? The Joe Bowen of Carolina broadcasters?

Flash, this is a looserfanboy/girl Hurricanes site.

the commentary on NBC's telecast of this series has been one-sided and demeaning and it has slighted our team, our Captain, our fans, and our community. We deserve better than what we've gotten from them.

Christ, it sounds like Beef whining about Cole & Neale.

I know, parts of it were pretty good.

Apparently the disdain for McGuire is international in scope.
