I'll take a wild guess: the last time the Leafs hoisted the Cup?

Question: Which is better -- jumping off the CN Tower, or celebrating another Cup in the Meadowlands parking lot? I'll wait...

To all those who criticze the three-time Stanley Cup champion Devils and their parking lot parties:
Because of construction in downtown Raleigh the Hurricanes' Cup "parade" will take place in the streets and approach roads around the RBC Center (or whatever that place is called).
    I'm sure they'll draw 5,000 or so die-hard fans. ::)

    Yes.

As long as Ottawa NEVER celebrates a Cup, I'll be fine.

Hell, they are going to give out 18,000 commemorative pint glasses, I think I'll go just to get one.

And as a hockey fan, I will keep my handle for at least a couple of days, or until Mike Commodore shaves off the fro and scruff.

Thank you Hurricanes for a year to remember as a young writer. But Hurricanes fans, welcome to the next level of fandom and the utter disappointment for anything less than what you got last night.

Minor point of clarification, but the Plymouth Whalers are not a minor league team as somebody stated. They're a junior (amateur) team.

And I can't help but wonder if Justin Williams and Screech are somehow related:

Sadly, you are correct on the parade.
They've been tearing up Fayetteville Street Mall for close to a year now and it won't be done quickly. Raleigh is so spread out that the only other option was doing the parking lot run. And yes, it does suck.

Maybe they could relocate it and have it up Yonge Street from the Air Canada Centre.

You know, for old time's sake.

Much as I hate the Habs, I gotta admit to laughing appreciatively when I heard that Mayor Jean Drapeau once announced after yet another Cup win that the parade would follow "the usual route."

Which begs the question -- did the Leafs have a "usual route" in the '60s? Was it up Yonge Street?

I must agree that next year will indeed mark 40 years. And if Toronto never wins another Stanley Cup, at least the Leafs spoiled the Habs' plans to showcase the Cup at Expo '67. It's possible that no victory will ever be sweeter.

I think it was up Yonge to Queen and then over to what was then called "New City Hall".

I'm in the States and I can see it. But only because I get CBC on my cable.

Yep, you're right. I did type minor league, but I also did say OHL league too.

Make it three. I did the same. Of course, I did scrap it once after Jersey rocked the Hurricanes in Game 4 of the conference semis.
