Yeah, Gagne and Pitkanen for Pronger sounds like a deal that Clarke would make. He can't even remember who they decided to draft.

In regards to the question about Taylor, I thought I heard during the draft that he is staying on as a pro scout/consultant. I could be wrong though.

It'll be interesting to see if Lowe goes after a couple of established NHL players (i.e. Gagne and company) or starts building for another future by picking up loads of prospects and draft picks.

Had an e-mailer today suggest the Canes send Jack Johnson, a sign-and-trade Martin Gerber and a first rounder for Pronger.

    Sirs, Madames,

I like the guy Philly ended up drafting (a guy all the OHL teams passed on in a 20-round draft). He'll have a solid NHL career.

Re Taylor: At 900K why not? Still, it's like keeping your old lady's X around to service the car and clean the eavestroughs. It sorta like the Knicks having Larry Brown around as a towel boy.

    YHS, etc

The Big Pronger Rumour righ now is the reason he wants out of Edmonton is because he knocked up some 17 or 18 year old chick from Sherwood Park (suburb of Edmonton) at a party not too long after being acquired by the Oil. Apparently Pronger and the boys went out and celebrated what could be after the big trades last summer. That would be why his wife is pissed and she tok the kids back to STL. That's the big rumour, and of course I don't have any super solid sources to back it up, but so far it's the thing that makes the most sense.

Question, and this is because I've never cheated, but if you're going to be unfaithful, isn't rule 1a with a bullet to wrap it up? fuck sakes.

I think it makes a lot of sense that the wife just didn't like Edmonton.
Crazy Canadians, thinking the rest of the world loves you as much as you love yourself. [/sarcasm]

Oh come on, Edmonton has lots of green space, is a stones throw from the mountains, and it has the World's biggest mall. If you're a chick, what's not to like? :p

The lack of running water at the ballpark in Sherwood Park, the heavy odour from the smelting mills, the coat of dust everywhere emitted from said smelting mills ...

Oh come on, you get out of North East Edmonton and you're fine. Besides a coating of dust from smelting plants never hurt anyone ::)

I'm still coughing from my last trip up there.

The scuttlebutt up here (Kypreos was going on about it this afternoon) is Pronger for T. Kaberle & Steen .

That would mean there's no way the Leafs would sign McCabe.

Kypreos was trying to sell that to the world yesterday. I still don't see that being the return. Got to say I would be disappointed.

Now there's the understatement of this thread. :)

That would drive you to down three 26er's, wouldn't it?
