Still think Texas has never executed anyone who was innocent?

Oh, I don't expect you to actually admit that you feel that way, but we've all seen enough of your posts on this thread and elsewhere to know that is exactly how you feel.

Just like you won't admit the hypocrisy in railing against laws and government the way you do but supporting the death penalty. And yes, I saw your weak attempt to justify that, too. I'm just not buying it. Nobody is.

Yes, yes, it is horrible to expect the government to do one of the only two duties it is actually constitutionally commissioned to do....

That approach was weak four days ago and it is weaker now that you are trying to use it again (not surprisingly as you lack originality and the ability to think for yourself).

Go back to color by numbers, you have a prayer of getting that right.

Actually, no you'd fuck that up as well, but you at least have a chance I suppose.

This thread needs to be put to death.

No, no, no - only if there is ironclad videotape evidence that it has committed a crime and even then, we should be better than killing it... [/deskslave]

The idea that "the system works, even though innocent people have been executed" is reprehensible.

What system? How does it "work" exactly? What are the benefits? Does it make your justice system better? Is there any proof that capital punishment acts as a deterrent or is it just Old Testament justice?

Capital punishment is barbaric but it's always fun to see Americans act like third world countries when it comes to death sentences but still pretend they're civilized.

The USA is the only G7 country that condones state sanctioned murder. Congrats.

Yes, because executing a scumbag like Ted Bundy is very similar to children in Africa being forced to become soldiers and women being raped in African and Arabian countries because, well, they are women.

Go back to Canada and smoke in bar.

I know you can't admit your own hypocrisy. You never do. Just understand that we all see it and hurling your sad little insults doesn't cover up your bullshit nearly as well as you think it does.

You support the death penalty even if it means killing innocent people. In fact, you seem pretty damn happy about it in this case. You are just fine with it because he did other bad things.

That is your position. I know you try to paint it differently, but nobody here is stupid enough to believe you. That is why you are so happy to abandon your distrust of government and the law. You want to be able to pick and chose whose rights should be protected.

When it comes down to it, ou just want the bad people to go away. The rights of others be damned. You constantly whine about the government trampling on people's rights. Well, they trampled this guy's rights. They put him to death for a crime he didn't commit. You don't get to pick and choose whose rights are protected and whose are not. Well, you can, but it makes you a hypocrite.

Cue your latest attempt to dazzle us with some reference to the Stillers, Pittsburgh, coloring books or crayons. Just don't expect it to work. All it does is remind anybody who is paying attention that you can't win an argument on merit, so you just toss insults and act smug and hope nobody notices.

Zag, I don't have to go back to Canada. I live here. And you can't smoke in bars in Ontario. :)

I have no idea what you're talking about when you compare Ted Bundy's execution to children in Africa being forced to become soldiers.

Seriously, what does one have to do with the other? What am I missing?

Please, give it a rest. You sound like an idiot, which of course is not surprising.

I think I made it pretty clear on this thread that the death penalty, as it is administered here in this country, is not working but that the system needs to be perfected and retooled so that we can continue to administer it.

As for this particular case, please go back and reread the thread before you start spouting off and maybe you won't sound like such an idiot all the time.

I said in terms of a poster child for a cause, this dude was a poor choice and at the end of the day the world is a better place without him.

    Please stop.

You join these threads late, you have no idea what has been said or talked about (not that it matters as you are pretty much clueless all the time about every subject) then you start running your mouth and wonder why nobody takes you seriously.

The only hypocrisy which will be displayed around here is when you start whining about everyone else "getting threads locked" and then do your best to get this one locked.

I believe that was a reference to posters on this thread comparing the United States to nations with unsavory reputations due to the use of the death penalty. He was just too busy being snide to make the argument clearly.

How horrible of me - to expect people convicted of crimes to be punished....
