survivor - heroes vs. villains

JT made the smart move last night sticking with the majority. If he didn't, he almost certainly would have been the next person targeted, probably taking the focus off Tom and Colby. If he screws them over two weeks in a row, no way does he make the merger.

Not at all. If JT sides with Tom and Colby they bring Candace along. They become the majority.

If memory serves, Tom practically ran the table in challenges the season he won. I think having someone like that out there scares people.

I've always thought that for the most part with Survivor, you get rid of the weakest/laziest players or the biggest pains in ass first and then either just before the merge or just after, you go for the biggest threats.

In a season like this, when everyone is a pretty good player, that's a little tougher to do.

When James said he felt something pop but didn't feel pain, that told me...ACL. Same experiences I had.
But if the Heroes want to carry a disabled player, that's their funeral.

It's been all about numbers from the get-go this season.

I'm really, really curious to see who wins the power struggle between Russell and Boston Rob. I am rooting for Russell, despite his annoying ego.

I thought it was a gutsy, yet great move by Russell to show Coach the idol. Because Coach is so weirdly able to be convinced anything by just letting him in on a secret. Even though Coach was sucking on Rob's teet the whole season, Russell figured Coach was the most likely to overreact in Russell's favor. Good move.

Survivor is pretty stupid to show the previews of next week's episode when everyone knows Russell has the idol.

US Weekly's website had something this week that listed the name of one of the supposed finalists.

Well, see, I don't know about that.

JT needed to show Rupert, James, Amber and Candace he could be trusted, especially with the way he blindsided them a week ago.

If he got rid of James, it'd be Rupert, Amber and Candace in one alliance, Tom, JT and Colby in another and who's to say Rupert wouldn't be so pissed he'd convince Colby and Tom to boot JT next?

At least this way, JT moves himself up in the pecking order of the tribe. Colby is, right now, clearly the next to go and that then leaves Rupert, Amber, JT, James and Candance. JT could easily have an all-guys alliance at that point since Amber and Candance seem on the outs anyway and could then convince Rupert to get rid of James assuming the injury is still there (And/or he could tell Rupert the whole 'You want to go to Final Tribal with someone who has already won').

Not to mention, once these guys get to the merge, I think it's going to be every man for himself. Russell clearly is on the outs in his tribe and they're known as the villains for Pete's sake. You just know a handful of people are going to be looking to break tribal lines.

Candace would have flipped, easily. She's a hanger-on with that alliance, and Amber is dangerous. She's not on the outs with her alliance.
If JT and Candace side with Tom and Colby, they've got a 4-3 advantage. They take out James, and they've got a 4-2 advantage.
That would have been the way to play it.

Buck & schiezainc:

Amber is Boston Rob's wife and she isn't a member of this season's cast.

Amanda Kimmel is the green-eyed, brown hair Amazon that you're talking about.

I'm just catching up with the Tivo - this is a pretty fun season. The All-Stars format has as many strengths as drawbacks, but they often work against each other. The people know each other, but they also don't take stuff personally (except Coach) and focus on the game. They know how to preen for the camera so you have 20 people hamming it up for the camera (the mud sumo challenge?!!!!) the crew designs challenges that "emphasize" the bikinis and there isn't enough island for all the egos.
Surprised how likable Boston Rob is, how unhinged James is (he's referring to himself in the third person) and how much bs is being spouted about honor, nobility and honesty.

I think James tore the ACL, too. I tore my meniscus and MCL (at different times) and I felt pain both times. But I've covered hockey players who had their knees put in braces after tearing the ACL and they continued to play. Whether James can do so remains to be seen but I seem to remember the docs telling those two players they couldn't do any further damage by playing with the torn ACL.

I'm voting (hoping) for Boston Rob to win the power struggle with Russell. What worked against a bunch of inexperienced hacks in Russell's season won't likely work with this group. And Russell is so gaga over Parvati, he isn't thinking straight anyway. I'm sure his wife back home is enjoying the show.

Not to mention trusting coach because he says he's so trustworthy is naive at best. Russell is so moved that the "dragon slayer" bowed down to him, he's too stupid to notice that Coach is full of crap. I seem to recall Coach announcing his undying loyalty to Randy and vowing to do whatever he could to keep him there shortly before writing his name down at Tribal. As soon as Coach used the word "loyal" in reference to Russell, I assumed it must mean Russell is the next villain to go. At least I hope so.

I don't think James wants his three trips to Survivor end like this...

1. Voted out while holding both immunity idols
2. Injury
3. Injury

That would really suck.

One of these days the show is going to be faced with a serious, critical injury or health issue. It's coming.

Well, the last time James was on, he got medically evacuated and had to come back to the jury with an IV stand - that was pretty bad.
