survivor - heroes vs. villains

It's interesting. So much of this goes back to the rest of the cast not being able to watch Russell's season on Survivor. If they did, they'd know how much he relies on the hidden idols and almost certainly would have voted him off by now.

I didn't think much of it when the season started but it's a huge advantage.

Yeah, Russell definitely had a huge advantage being unknown to the others.

People keep wondering why everyone wasn't looking for the idol from the beginning -- it's because Russell invented the strategy last season. Before that, it never occurred to anyone to look before they got clues.

I think this was only their second trip to tribal, and their first since they knew of an idol, and they tried and failed to get rid of Russell.

Tyson's move makes absolutely no sense. I still can't grasp what he was thinking.
It was dumber than James getting voted off while holding two immunity idols.

Speaking of James, even with the bum knee, I think I would have kept him and voted out Colby.

In my opinion, Boston Rob is the best player in the history of the game. Which is why the target on his back will be so huge that unless he keeps winning immunity, he'll be one of the next to go.

I'm not so sure about that. Rob's alliance (Coach, Jerri, Courtney, Sandra) still have the numbers over Russell, Parvati and the other chick (Danielle?). Now that the idol is flushed out, I think Russell's days are numbered unless he starts winning immunity challenges.

james wasn't exactly helping them roll to wins before his injury

Neither was Colby.
My point is, regardless of the ultimate outcome, James has been a better competitor.

Three weeks ago he injured himself in the reward challenge and had to take on the role of instruction barker during the immunity challenge. He helpd his team take a commanding lead through his portion of that challenge.
This week, on one leg, he outperformed Colby in the challenge.

In both instances, the team lost, but James outperformed others on his team.

Never count that guy out. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them flips.

By the way, when Russell presented the idol to Parvati, he did so with a message to Coach about loyalty. Was the purpose behind the message:

1. to get Coach to join forces with Russell since they supposedly have the same creed?
2. to blast Coach for not joining his alliance after he told Coach he had the idol?

Either way, it was brilliant. Russell seems to have all the answers. It's really incredible. And considering how full of himself Boston Rob is, it makes it even funnier.

"Welcome to the big leagues"

James was handicapped. The next time there was a challenge that involved a lot of running, his team would be toast and he would be the reason why.

I can't believe they picked Tom over James last week. He had to go, he was incapable of doing much. Not his fault, just the way it is.

Right after James' injury, I agreed with you. At the time, JT and Candace would have been wise to side with Colby and Tom to oust James.
But that was one challenge into the injury.
This week, after seeing James, with a bad wheel, out-perform Colby on the rope course, I would have taken out Colby.

He'd probably been the first villain to go.

I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying the season. It's like everyone is bringing their A game whether it's a bimbo game, a macho game or whatever. This is easily the best "all-stars" version they've had.

Now that the hidden immunity idol has been flushed out/even though the hidden immunity idol has been flushed out, I would not be surprised to see another one put into play.

That's what this show does -- changes the rules/circumstances of the competition mid-stream -- just to do it, and thus, manipulate the game, and then, see what happens.

You know, like the double tribal council that has never, ever occurred before, I don't think. The show reserves the right to pull strings and create the show as it goes along.
