I've only been watching the show for about three years, and this season has been the most entertaining.
Candace getting caught by Colby and Rupert was great.
Russell pulled a coach movie by giving Jerri instructions with his eyes, and she actually swicthed her vote right at the tribal council.
I'm surprised by how much I've been enjoyed a TV series.

You need to find a way to get the first Survivor and watch that series. That one was easily a top three, along with this one...and the script for what was to come.

In Survivor I I got caught up it just to see the day Hatch got canned. I wound up in awe of the guy and then was pulling for him in All-Stars. Too bad the dumbass went to jail on failing to pay his taxes on the $1 million. I'd loved to have seen him, Boston Rob and Russell duke it out.

  4. My favourite on Season 1 was Sean, who pioneered the never-before seen, and never-again utilized, strategy of voting for a different person every council based alphabetically.
That the guy was a doctor made it more entertaining. He was a complete moron. Would not want him looking over me as the anesthetic took hold

Russel is entertaining in the same way that Dreamz was entertaining...a wild card who stirs shit up but may not actually be a great player.

Every winner, even if they pulled greasy moves, still managed to win over the jury because the jury members could respect the move. While a jury member may respect the move that Russel makes, they can't respect the relish he takes in screwing someone over.

I think Russel is a good player however he has had the benefit of immunity idols being given away like candy where previous season did not.

I also think CBS and Burnett like having villain they can push so he gets a somewhat favorable edit and some of his douchebaggery gets left on the cutting room floor.

He displays an incredible lack of self awareness that will prevent him from winning this game.

All you doubters, I'm going to have your ass thrown off this board, so pack your bags.

Now we know why Russell is not the greatest player ever. He votes too personally, and throws away any logic over any perceived slight. Parvati has actually exposed Russell, and he wanted Danielle gone because he wants Parvati all to himself. Great strategy, moron.

I don't think Thursday's vote was personal at all. He saw that having Danielle there gave Parvati control of the game so he got rid of her. He also knew he couldn't beat her in jury if he Parvati and Danielle were the Final 3.

I don't know if he's the best player ever, but I wouldn't argue with someone who said he was.

  9. You are joking, right? Comparing Russell to Dreamz? Russell makes more strategic moves per episode than Dreamz made in a whole season.

Russell won't win because his ego is too large and this past episode is a perfect example. Yes, he needed to split up Parv and Danielle. But Parv is too smart to fall for his crap (pitting them against each other). And he did it way too early. There was no reason to do it that week other than his ego couldn't handle the fact that he wasn't in control of the game. If he plays it cool and waits another tribal, things work much better for him.

  10. So should we take bets on who wins? I've heard it will be a Final 3 this season (the early jury start sure hints in that direction as well).

Russell won't win but will probably be in the finals because everyone knows he won't win. The sad thing for Russell is an all-star jury is the perfect jury for someone ruthless to win because they know how the game is played. But when you are ruthless without any respect or make it too personal (as Boston Rob did), then all bets are off.

Anyway, it wouldn't shock me to see Sandra or Parv win again. I rewatched Pearl Islands a few months ago and realized just how great Sandra's strategy was. It seems like she is coasting her way through the game, but in reality she makes most of the important decisions. The weakest players (physically and strategically) usually play a key role in all big moves in Survivor. The problem for most of them is that they aren't smart enough to jump on the opportunity (see Candice in both her seasons). Sandra is smart enough to do that and it will get her far again this season.

I'd also love it if Jerri and Colby reach the final 3 together. That'd be fun. And it could happen if Russell aligns with the heroes (with Jerri in tow).

  11. They are going to start filming seasons back-to-back like they did with Samoa and Heroes vs. Villains. Which means that the so-called 17th Survivor - the location as described by Mark Burnett - will be out of play for the spring season each year. That means they will almost certainly have to do gimmicky seasons. Which I am more than OK with if they are as good as this season.

he still had to find the idols (more than once with no clue) before the others found them.
