There was a guy, I think a pilot, who dominated for most of a season, but finished fourth because they all knew they would have zero chance to beat him in jury. I don't remember his name.

What do people think was the worst season?

I know some say Thailand, which I didn't watch, but my vote would go for the season when it was the one guy against eight women at the end and he ended up winning. It's the same season where Probst met his longterm, but now ex-girlfriend. I think Ami was on that season as well. Awful year.

Exile Island has Cirie and I think it's the first immunity idol season.

Cook Islands is very good - Yul Kwon, Ozzy, Parvati, the bizarre Caio Boi, Jonathan Penner, the offer of "mutiny" ... you'll like that one. As mentioned they tried the racial gimmick but bail on it smartly and quickly.

I think I read somewhere that Probst even said "Thailand" was his least favorite. Maybe because a slimy former soft-corn porn star and then used car salesman won.

Cook Islands did have lots of memorable folks. Parvarti didn't last very long there, If I recall correctly. I think that season also spawned Liza as well.

And Mizzou, I think you are talking about Vanuatu where that guy Chris pulled it out against the last remaining women. And yes, Probst did meet his a future gf there. Julie, I think?

Edit: Parvarti was the seventh member of the jury on Cook Islands. Liza wasn't on CI, but Candice was.

  5. Eliza was on Vanuatu, which is the season Mizzou mentioned. That was the first real attempt at an all-female alliance and it completely backfired, which was funny. The fact that Chris won was a bit lame though, honestly. He deserved it by helping to blow up the all-female alliance, but he didn't do much else the rest of the season.

I'm not sure what that is, and I'm glad I don't know.
    It's sounds filthy.

Oh, and one of my favorite Survivor moments ever -- the tie-breaker fire-making challenge at tribal !

Probst has said his two least favorite seasons were Thailand and the first all-stars, largely because Survivor was sued by Sue Hawk who claimed the show let Richard Hatch sexually harrass her. I remember one of the reality sites said she settled for about $150K.

That same article said he's now much more fond of the first all-stars season than he was at the time. He's very good friends with Boston Rob, so maybe that's why.

I spent a long time in the car over the last week, and I listed to several episodes of "Rob Cesterino has a podcast" and it was interesting to hear how much respect former players like Richard Hatch, Lex, and several others had for Sandra, and these comments were made pretty early in the season.
