Texas Rangers manager question

The discussion of Bobby Valentine led me to thinking about Texas Rangers managers. There have been some controversial characters piloting the ill-starred club over the years...from renowned grumpuses like Ted Williams to obscure curmudgeons like Billy Hunter, of whom Doc Ellis once said "He ain't gonna make a lampshade outta me." So who's the biggest douche in Rangers managerial history?

Note- I'm not calling the above men douches- I'm big fans of some of them.

I left out Eddie Stanky, Connie Ryan, Darrell Johnson, Toby Harrah, Johnny Oates and Ron Washington. If you really think one of those guys is a bigger douche than anyone listed in the survey, you can vote "other." I just chose to list those about whom I've heard kvetching over the years.

The only time Bobby Valentine can lose a biggest douchebag contest is when Billy the drunken racist anti-semite scumbag Martin is in the mix.

A vote for anyone other than Martin means you really shouldn't be allowed to vote. And he was a good manager. Kind of like how Mousollini kept the trains running on time.

Bad question. Valentine was a douche without parallel, a calculating, manipulative fraud. Martin was fucked up, too, but a lot of that was booze-driven. Why include guys like Herzog, Rader and Lucchesi if you're looking for a douche?

 

Gotta go with Martin.

 

Rader was loathed by many during his tenure. I liked Lucchesi, but Lenny Randle would disagree.
Herzog, in my opinion, is not a douche, but I included anyone about whom I've heard grumblings.

 

I voted for Doug Rader. I have experience from my days as an Orioles fanboi looser. He's an epic piece of work.

Johnny Oates belongs on nobody's list of douches. I can still remember years ago when Sam Hulett, the 6-year-old son of Orioles utility infielder Tim Hulett, was hit by a car and killed. The Orioles lost the game, but Oates was inconsolable about Sam's death. He didn't give a hoot about that game.

RIP Johnny Oates. I still think of you as one of my favorite people involved in baseball.
