The Amazing Race - 2011-12

That means that as soon as they're out of non-elim legs, there won't be any more. It's just odd that they're all towards the beginning. Usually they axe people pretty quickly on this show and then people get reprieves towards the end.

"Kindness of Strangers (Taiwan)" (non-elim)
"The Sprint of Our Life (Indonesia)" (double-elim)
"Don't Lay Down on Me Now! (Indonesia)" (elim)
"This Is Gonna Be a Fine Mess (Phuket, Thailand)" (non-elim)
"I Feel Like I'm in the Circus (Bangkok, Thailand)" (elim)
"We Love Your Country Already; It Is Very Spacious (Malawi)" (non-elim)

There's six more episodes and seven contestants. So there's only two more non-elimination legs after this.

Also, apparently Cindy (@MsCindyChiang) and Ernie (@Ernie_Halvo) are on Twitter, because Cindy retweeted my statement that her getting crushed by the bed was one of the funniest things I've seen on TAR. She just crumpled like an accordion, which I found hilarious, especially when she was laughing hysterically, trapped under the bed.

I love the moments when they take the racers to a school or something and they relax and have a little fun with the kids. I liked the idea that Jennifer is going to do the truck-building exercise with her class. And I generally like it when they go to Africa because usually, the Racers realize exactly how much they do have over there.

The stuck-under-the-bed scene was funnier than it maybe should have been. I must have been in a good mood or something, because I rewound it several times.

It helped that the cameraperson zoomed in on her face and she was cracking up. I may have felt bad for laughing if she hadn't been laughing as well.

That's twice the snowboarders have won because another team messed up. They got first when Zach and Lawrence were penalized.
Have they won every leg but one?

Three times. They also won the leg where several teams forgot to give the remainder of their money to the orphanage. They didn't win the first and fifth legs.

I love it when teams U-turn a team in front of them. Brilliant strategy.

I so wanted Phil to tell Laurence and Zac that they did something really stupid with the U-turn.

That was so cool to see Bill and Cathi do so well. With something as physically demanding as the canoe race, they simply worked together and got it done.

And, I really like the "never say die" attitude of Amani and Marcus. It's what kept them in the game.

The snowboarders are so, well, just made for the race. The extreme sports they do play into a lot of the challenges, they're smart AND observant, and nice guys on top of that.
Now that I've jinxed it...
