In this week's Entertainment Weekly they Todd Phillips said the script for the sequel was written before Hangover was even released. It's the third highest grossing opening for an R-rated comedy. If you know off the top of your head what No. 1 and No. 2 are, you know more about movies than I do.
I'm not sure I want a sequel to this. I mean, I'll see it of course, but there's no way it can live up to the original.
Funniest movie I've seen in a long time. Definitely top five material, all-time, in comedies. (I'm stickin' with Animal House as No. 1.) And it was strong, start to finish. (Unlike, say, Wedding Crashers, which crashed and burned toward the end.) The Tyson scenes were great, him gettin' into Phil Collins and all before he knocked Zach out. I'll probably see again. Hey, it's $5 for a matinee and I can use the laughs. And as someone mentioned earlier, stick around for the credits.
In a rare night alone with Mrs. Stagger Lee, we caught the late showing of The Hangover on Friday and absolutely enjoyed every second of the flick. The wife is not a big fan of this genre, but she couldn't stop laughing the entire movie. I don't know if I've laughed so much in a movie since Wedding Crashers. I was ready for Galifiniakis to shine, I've been a big fan for a couple of years now. The scenes with Tyson were awesome, and the closing credits just sealed the deal for me. I'm thinking about going see it again during the week for a matinee showing. I'm sure there were some things I missed the first time due to laughing so hard.
