Hey Steve ... sometime in the past year or two, the Sports Business Journal did a feature tracing the histories of some of the major Internet sports sites. Can't remember exactly when it ran, but if you do some digging, I'm sure you can track down that piece for some background.

Glad you guys remember NandO.net -- years ahead of the curve for a newspaper-driven site ...

Might want to talk to Mitch Gelman about the early days of the Internet. I believe he was the first editor-in-chief of ESPNET Sports Zone before leaving for CNN, where he was executive editor of CNNSI.com and eventually executive producer of CNN.com. He recently left the biz, I hear, and now lives in Colorado.

Well, I do not; I'm simply embarrassed as hell...

Sorry about that...And I not only DBed you, but I did it in three posts rather than one.

I did a freelance piece for SportsLine USA back when the site looked something like that. I remember thinking how high-tech it all seemed. God bless the Internet ... just another thing to make me feel really old.

Go.com has been there since about the time I started on the internet 1996-1997.

Holy cow! I remember it looking like that.

Also, whoever mentioned the blogs. Sportspickle has been around since like 2001.
