Damn time flies. I know we’ve had so many references and memories of the film scattered around but thought I’d mention it here.

As much as I loved LL, I remember my “Sandlot” days at the playground more fondly. That’s why I love the movie so much.

That's a movie that I don't recall being in the theaters, but discovered it only years later on cable, right around the time Ham guested on X-Files where he gets iced by Mulder.

Unless it was a Disney animated movie, a bunch of those "aimed at kids" movie just kind of came-and-went in theaters. The big money at that point across all genres seemed to be in the rentals and home video sales, which still aren't especially well understood. Like friggin' "One Hour Photo" apparently made $72m in one year from the secondary market. Also from that article - "8 Mile" at $130m, "Drumline" at $84m, "Barbershop" at $102m.

"Eddie and the Cruisers" is Exhibit A of this phenomenon. Tanked at the cinema on first run, got on HBO, and all I remember is my aunt raving about it.
