The Tonight Show

Fallon's debut is tonight -- show scheduled to start at Midnight ET because of Olympics coverage. Planning to watch if my ashignment tonight doesn't run overtime.

Anyone else planning on watching Jimmy's debut?

Luckily, I'm off tonight, so I'll probably watch it out of curiosity, but don't think I'll be watching regularly afterward. Nothing against Fallon; I just haven't watched much of the late night shows in the last few years.

Jimmy Fallon should just remember Conan's famous advice: You can do anything you want to in life -- unless Jay Leno wants to do it, too. ;D

Quite interesting to get Will Smith participating in a skit "The History of Hip-Hop Dancing."

It's funny, I wonder if (among other things) Conan had the option of staying in New York.

Jimmy said during his monologue that it was the first time The Tonight Show was in New York in over 40 years. I thought either Conan or Jay had done a few shows there in the last decade or so. I know Jay did some shows in Chicago, but I also thought there were some in NYC.

There's as much chance of Leno coming back to "Tonight" as there is of Moose Skowron playing first base for the Yankees this season.

About Fallon: Why is he always SHOUTING?

I thought Fallon threaded the Conan reference quite nicely Monday. Also like the small set. He's got to do a bit interviewing the Roots guys who no longer have to play on the second story right?

I think he was referring to the fact that it has been over 40 years since show originated nightly from NYC. Yes, I think Jay did a week's worth of visits but nightly, not since Johnny Carson.

Last night was probably the most a Tonight Show host made me laugh ever....

The $100 skit was hilarious and the evolution of hip-hop dance was pretty hilarious as well...

I've watched up to where the guests come out and I was really impressed. I only saw his late night show when he had a big guest on or would watch in pieces on the website...

If this is a sign of things to come, I will be watching regularly.

I'm not going to say who came out for the $100 skit except to say it was pretty remarkable before it was over.
