I'm not a conservative I'm a libertarian who wants most taxes to end --- but you are right - as soon as I posted it I thought to myself -- "there is no way in hell I would agree to allowing the government track my purchases......"

So here is a less intrusive better way (mind you the whole goal is to create such an outrage about how much taxes are that people wise up and make a stand with the government) -- every purchase is tracked through merchants and the sales tax of say six percent is added to the entire bill, which is then split up evenly among every tax payer.......

Who does pay for roads and police in your tax-free utopia? Does everyone just chip in what they see fit?

Cutting out the 5.3 percent income tax would still leave Massachusetts with $17 billion to budget.

I think that is plenty for these idiots to manage.

Again, what does any of this have to do with speculation about the veep picks?

I will not claim to have read every word, but I skimmed it. Here's the thing: It didn't answer the damn question. And I don't happen to have a copy of Harry Browne's book lying around. So I'll ask again: Who pays for roads and police?

This jumped the tracks from the original topic a while ago.

    But, I'll say again McCain-Lieberman or McCain-Palin

Government would still have some functionality and those things with which it was constitutionallly allowed to do. And all of us would still pay our fair share -- were not abolishing ALL taxes, just the overwhelming majority of them because the bastards in Washington don't need an excuse to be wasteful......

Couldn't help but notice you modified your earlier post from "all" taxes to "most." And, see, now it just becomes a matter of which services you think government should or shouldn't provide. And that's all very subjective.

And sorry, I don't think "roads" are mentioned anywhere in the Constitution.

It sure as hell baffles the majority of those at any Democratic Party get-together. You might get a comment like "Well, that's nice that you try to reach out to those with a tendency for the superstitious. I mean, anything to get the votes."
And since you're a democrat first, they always have an assuring sense of your ultimate loyalty.

  11. You're just so clever, Yawn. How can I be more like you?

  12. I think it continues to be the Greatest Dumb Idea in the history of Dumb Ideas.
But it really doesn't have anything to do with this thread.
And zag, the correct answer to the question posed to you is, "The freeways rot, and the bridges collapse, but is a FREE PEOPLE that gets to fall into the river."
