If she's VP on an Obama ticket that wins, I make her chance of being elevated to the top spot sometime before January of 2013 approximately even.

Too many scumbag bastards out there.

  2. Then find me the part where Jesus says to turn your back on the poor and let them starve. Or to bomb your enemies back to the stone age. Or to make sure everyone has a damned gun because it's necessary to the protection of the state.
Two can play that intellectually dishonest game, Zag.

Alas, folks should be permitted to have guns to protect themselves FROM the state.

    See: Hitler, A.

  4. That's an entirely different point. We're talking about the message of the Lamb of God.

Unfortunately, I would agree with that. I think that's the only reason she wants the spot.

I think it's probably the same reason why Romney wants the other spot as well...

It's better odds than she's looking at, now.

Got a news flash for her: if Obama loses, she's not getting the '12 nom.

Turn your back on the poor? Christian Conservatives are some of the most charitable people on the planet. Pat Robertson has done more for poor around the planet than most "liberal" do-gooders who tell us all how we should spend our money could ever dream of.

There are plenty of references to war and righteous wars in the bible.

And I don't guns are referenced either way in the bible.

And further -- did you miss the story of Adam and Eve and how the world began?

But once again -- you missed the point and attacked me because, well you know you are wrong and your convictions are bothered by the fact that what Jesus says about life and death and what he says about fornication and homosexuality don't jive with your political beliefs and thus, this is really why you call yourself the Democrat first, Christian second.

You see, I wasn't talking about gay marriage -- I was talking about the sin of homosexuality.

And, I wasn't talking about abortion rights -- I was tallking about the sin of murder.

I wasn't talking about the process of evolution -- I was talking about the sin of blasphemy and atheism that is required to believe the theory to be absolutely true. That God doesn't exist and that all of this just came to be on its own, via nature......

Those things my friend, there is no arguing about regardless of how you try to justify it in your head. You can try to tell yourself that there is, but there isn't and deep down you know it.

Now if you want to try and attack me because I've touched a nerve, that's fine, I am a big boy, I can take it.

But when you go to sleep at night, and when you think about meeting your maker some day, well, he's not going give a rat's ass what the climate of the culture that you lived in was because he's only interested in righteousness.

  8. Please teach me about righteousness, Zag. You always come across as so Christ-like.

The enternal disconnect, re militant Christians.

And why they cannot be allowed to get anywhere NEAR the levers of federal power.

No, unlike you -- I don't claim to be.

And I also think that sometimes you show your ass when you act as if you and the rest of the "liberal" christians like Tony Campolo are somehow morally superior and different than the ultra-conservative religious people you claim to have so much contempt for.

You are no different and both the christian right and left would do very well if they'd do us all a favor and leave their holy wars in their churches and keep them the hell out of politics.

Over/under on thread shutdown is 11:38 a.m. EST.

  12. Where did I ever claim to be Christ-like?
And you're the one who brought up politics and the Christian connection here. I made two points to Yawn about his politics and his religion which were not related to each other.
I just find it incredible that so many of the Christians on this board like to question the faith of the others.
I'll be happy to answer any questions, but I don't say, "Well, you're not a believer."
