It's Stauber, of the northern Minnesota goaltending dynasty (Pete himself played at Lake Superior State and won a national championship). He's a retired cop. He's gotten even Trumpier in term No. 2, mostly because he owes as much of his career to the man as anyone in Congress. Thanks to the mythical Iron Range and its preponderance of bored undereducated white people, this area has gotten visits from Trump (twice), Pence (twice), Ivanka and Don Jr. in the last three years. I'm sure that it's no accident that, teaming with the Black Republican, the police reform bill that they've been flogging for a while contains little or no actual reforming of police. The fact that there's a room where this is being discussed is somewhat encouraging, though I remain skeptical that it exists for any reason other than for either side to say they made an attempt and that the other was unreasonable.

There are some people that cops should be allowed to shoot on sight, no questions asked. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/05/07/parker-hanson-augustana-baseball-stolen-arm/

And the fact that the NCAA won’t allow others to help makes it almost as reprehensible. And compounded by the fact that coaches who’ve made a hundred million dollars in salary and endorsements while a disabled athlete can’t even accept charity it more than disgraceful. That none of those coaches have spoken up makes them inhumane.

The moment Parker Hanson saw that his car had been broken into as it sat in his driveway in the predawn hours Monday in Sioux Falls, S.D., his spirits sank. Then Hanson realized his backpack, which held his prosthetic arm and its attachments, was missing.
“It was a ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’ moment,” Hanson said.
Hanson, who was born without a left hand and is a right-handed relief pitcher for the baseball team at Division II Augustana University, posted his reaction to Facebook.
“To the person in Sioux Falls last night who felt the need to steal other people’s property, I hope those prosthetic arms and attachments bring you more use than they brought me,” Hanson wrote. “I hope you can use them to better yourself more than I did for myself. I hope you use them to motivate others the way I strove to. I used them every single day, so I hope you can too. So if anyone sees a tan Nike backpack full of prosthetics, please let me know.”
The next day, the pack and its attachments, which cost thousands of dollars, had been found “dumped at the end of our block,” Hanson wrote on Facebook. Although the prosthetic arm was still missing, Hanson’s spirits rose a bit because replacing the attachments would have added time and expense because it would have required him to work with “four or five companies.” He will be able to replace the arm at “a one-stop shop,” although it is a high-cost carbon-fiber prosthetic that can run in the range of $5,000 to $10,000.
Hanson has received offers to start a GoFundMe campaign, but NCAA rules prohibit active athletes from accepting donations.

It’s not the cops fault, it’s the bad guys. And the media. This dude is the elected Sheriff of Riverside County.

Two New Jersey police officers charged for allegedly punching a teenager and lying about it - CNN

“CNN — Two New Jersey police officers are facing civil rights and obstruction of justice charges for allegedly assaulting an Arab American teenager and then lying about it on a police report, according to the New Jersey US Attorney's Office.

Paterson Police Officers Kevin Patino and Kendry Tineo-Restituyo appeared before Magistrate Judge Andre Espinosa on Tuesday to face charges that they allegedly deprived Osamah Alsaidi, then 19, of his constitutional right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures and then lied about the incident on a police report, court documents state.”

“In the video, two Paterson police officers are seen briefly talking to Alsaidi before grabbing him and punching him repeatedly.

Alsaidi, who was on his way to his 1 a.m. shift at Amazon, sustained multiple physical injuries as a result, including head trauma, a concussion and multiple cuts and bruises, as well as anxiety, stress and depression...”
