    And that's the way it's going. Wind currents have ripped the rain away from the circulation --- the circulation marches resolutely westward while the rain is ESE, sitting over Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Santo Domingo. Some of the rain is slowly being pulled back into the circulation, though.

    Watch out if the rains head into Hispanola -- that area floods way too easily and it doesn't take a full blown tropical system to make a tragedy down there. Jeanne was a tropical depression on the downswing two years ago when she killed more than 2,000 in Haiti.
