That's what irks me about such fundamentalist thinking: The fundamentalists seem to believe in the Thought Police -- as long as they're wearing the badges.

Anyone who won't toe the line -- well, just club 'em over the head until they wise up.

Or call them traitors, as evidenced by Tony's sig.

So let's just admit it guys: You're more offended by the rope than the beating. More offended by the thought than the action.

Just come out and say it. It'll feel good to get it out.

Offended? Using only that strict word, then yes.

Would you like to clarify your question?

1,568 posts and the only success you've ever had in an argument is if you get to write both sides.

    Time for a new schtick.

If you find the rope more offensive than the beating of a kid who had nothing to do with the rope, you've said enough already.

So I take it you're conceding your question was folly, without argument? Good for you.

I've done no such thing. It started with me calling the assaulters criminals and the rope hangers assholes. First off, Dan then called the rope hangers criminals -- a huge leap in logic, apparently making their thoughts a crime. Then he made an even bigger leap saying I'm just fine with the Nazis and the KKK. You don't call him on that, though, Zeke, and it's quite telling that you don't. There's a word for that and it starts with hypo and ends with crite.

Hanging a noose leads to a lot more violence than a schoolyard ass-kicking, Tony.

You could look it up, if you have any history books around.

I don't know what language you think this discussion is in, Doc, but just a tip for you: it's in English.

So let me guess, you're more offended by one but do you at least find the other more criminal? In other words, you want both sides?

Just go ahead and admit it. You're not upset about the six beating up the one because it fits your victim-group template. The six are the victim and the one had it coming because he's white.

Because there are still daily lynchings, right Dan?

I've already said they're assholes. But if a symbol is criminal, then you're in thought police territory.

Hanging a noose isn't a thought. It's an action in itself.

And it can set off something a lot worse than a fistfight.
