    My recollection is that The Washington Post hired a reporter just to cover Michael Jordan. How is this different or similar other than the health of the newspaper industry or may that makes it totally different.

    Also, a similar position to stalk Beyonce and the Beyhive. Both are fully remote, though I guess they'll come out of The Tennessean's budget.

    If Kanye applies Gannett should be warned that he’s bound to miss deadline because he has to finish his story about Beyoncé first.

    Sports reporters should be the last ones complaining about this. In the NFL today, one of the big stories was a QB got a haircut. I would argue Swift and Beyonce are worthy of beat reporters more than other teams that don’t drive traffic.
