From this month's Washingtonian Magazine, which devotes a page to reporting on The Washington Post

  2. As a longtime and lifelong TK backer, even I have to say this is pretty on the mark.

So is Tony K really Peter K Lite, or is Peter K really Tony K Lite?

There's not a writer in America who has ever gotten better by writing less and talking more. Better paid? Yes. But a better writer? No.

Wilbon's sniping at the Style staff drops him a notch in my book. "They wouldn't know how to write on deadline if their lives depended on it." Um, what does that have to do with anything? Are they not allowed to critique unless they can file 12 inches five minutes after the buzzer? That's as sophomoric as saying sportswriters who never played the game can't know what they're talking about.

Yep. I cringed when I read that. Wilbon should know better. Kornheiser is as fair game as anyone else. Of course Powell's response was equally lousy.

The whole bad review things smacks of Citizen Kane. Maybe TK finished the review off ...

And incidentally, it seems to me he's been mailing it in for several years now. I can't remember the last time someone told me, "you've got to read this Kornheiser column."

It was a cheap shot at the profession as a whole that was completely uncalled for.

Kornheiser's a thin-skinned pissy little bitch, who can't handle the slings and arrows of a job where he once hurled the slings and arrows.
    Nothing more; nothing less.
