I saw something on PFT that Brandon Lloyd has turned down six offers to play this season, including the Niners, Pats and Jets and that it's not a money issue.

I didn't watch the whole game last night, but Edelman looked pretty solid. I thought Brady was going to kill the rookie (not Thompkins) who kept dropping everything early in the game.

Geno needs to be more precise. There certainly were drops, but he threw behind his receivers a lot. He also needs to stop retreating when faced with pressure -- it doesn't work as well in the pros and he's taken some big losses.

The play by Manigold was very dirty.

Lloyd has been reputed to be not all there mentally, in all seriousness.
There was a supposed incident in the New England dressing room where he was talking amiably with a teammate and suddenly put on his headphones and said, "I'm not talking to you anymore."
Six teams in 10 years is unusual.

Yeah, especially for a player that talented. Medication has seemed to work for Brandon Marshall.

I can see why the Patriots would steer clear of that for now. They are a few weeks away from things settling down again once they Gronkowski and Amendola back. No sense bringing in potential locker room issue now, especially considering you're 2-0. If you lose a game between now and being "whole" again, you're still OK.

On the other hand, Geno did a pretty solid Sanchez impression.

It will be interesting to see how long Amendola is out. Usually 2-6 weeks means 6-8 weeks, but not always...

I thought Smith was terrible at West Virginia last year. Of all the QBs who have started as rookies, he's by far the weakest of the bunch, IMO.

I thought Manuel looked pretty good in the opener.

The other thing is hasn't he missed considerable time in the past? Both Gronkowski and Amendola have durability issues coming off injury-riddled 2012 seasons. Gronkowski missed his senior college season as well.

Trusting either guy to stay healthy is risky at best given their histories.

Aw shit. Somebody's saying Gronk is injury-prone? Don't say that around Rhody, the next thing you know someone will be saying there are character questions about Hernandez.
