Yes. Although they would have kicked off and possibly drained a few more seconds off the clock and/or left the Saints going from maybe their 25 instead of the 37.

That said, I go for it. The Saints' defense was totally gassed.

PK has the Packers rated No. 12 in his power rankings. Am I the only one stunned by that?

That sounds asinine. By default you probably have to put Seattle, San Francisco and Denver ahead of the Packers. IMO they fit anywhere from 4-6, but 12 is ridiculous.

I haven't looked at KC's schedule, but the Chiefs could very well win more than that. If you don't turn the ball over, you'll win a lot of games.

Eventually, though, to win a championship, you have to make plays, too (as noted above).

Yeah, I'd probably have them somewhere between No. 4 and No. 8.

    It's Overreaction Monday!

That's just stupid. All we know from last night is that Seattle is the best team by a good margin and is going to be an m-fer to beat up there. You could probably justify putting Denver at #2, but there is nobody else -- and especially nobody else in the NFC -- that belongs above San Francisco.

He has Denver No. 1, Seattle No. 2, SF No. 3 and New Orleans No. 4.

They're behind Cincy, San Diego, Chicago and KC. He also has the Pats at No. 13.

I love PK and I know people tend to overreact, but how do you put a team No. 12 when they barely lost on the road to one of the best teams in the league and then beat the living fuck out of a team that made the playoffs last season.

29-3 = "barely lost on the road"?

think he's talking about the Packers losing to the Niners last week.

Oh shit. I thought you said 49ers. Never mind. WTF was I thinking?

Yeah I wouldn't argue too much with the Packers being down at 12. They're only as good as Rodgers can take them by being historically great. That works well for a certain number of games, but they have a lot of holes.

And the team they played yesterday is not the team that made the playoffs last year.
