What movie "represents or explains" you?

A cousin of mine posted that he's "educating" his daughter on some of his favorite films from the '80s and '90s - like Tombstone and I thought - hmm, if she "gets" that movie she'll better understand Dave.

What movie should people see if they want to "understand" who you are and what you're about. Doesn't have to be your favorite movie - or even a movie you like - it may just have a certain vibe.

I'm pretty sure I'm somewhere between Hoosiers and the Electric Horseman.

Rushmore, Lone Star, No Country For Old Men come to mind. I’ve actually only seen Rushmore once, it seemed perfect at the time and I don’t want to disturb that experience.

“Up In The Air.” The George Clooney character was, in many ways, who I aspired to be: Driven, successful, sensitive when necessary, never stay in one place too long, largely solo but more in need of other people than I realized.

The line from that film that still resonates with me today: “Life’s better with company.”

In my 20s it would have been "Rounders," dreaming of ditching my real life to go chase the World Series of Poker. Go figure, my wife didn't like that movie very much.

Probably the Breakfast Club, just because that was my era . Even though I was a few years older, I think it really spoke to the idea that we were becoming what we wanted to be in our lives and that the sum total of who we were was greater than the hole we may have been plugged into at that age.

But the piece of fiction that really defines me and always spoke to me, was the original Wonder Years. I was both Kevin and Winnie depending on which story was being told.

Rounders is one of the best written films I've ever seen.
