Who will be the coach?

    At Michigan?

    At Arkansas?

    At Nebraska?

    At LSU?

    At Texas A&M?

    At Auburn?

I'm sure there are some other big-time programs (I don't count Baylor) who will be looking, but it will be interesting to see this many huge programs in a coaching search.

  2. Nick Saban will accept all five jobs.

He has no interest in any of those jobs... :D

Tuberville to Arkansas ... that's almost a fait accompli.

Nutt to Nebraska ... that deal almost got done in 2003.

    Miles to Michigan ... duh.

Franchione to Auburn ... up your butt, Rammer Jammer.

That leaves LSU and A&M. LSU will hire from within and A&M will clean house, so anyone's guess.

I thought Tuberville was a candidate at A&M...

I think Petrino will leave the Falcons to go to Auburn...

Maybe Jimbo Fisher or Bo Pelini get either the LSU or Nebraska jobs...

I can't see why Mark Mangino isn't in consideration for some of these jobs. To do what he's accomplished at a place like Kansas is none short of remarkable. I wouldn't be surprised if Nebraska made a run at him.

I do not see Franchione getting a sniff of another major program for a while. I'd peg him in at SMU or Colorado State (if Lubick does retire).

I see Nutt going to Baylor. For some reason, I can't see him going from one pressure cooker to another.

No way does Nutt go to NU. If I were a betting man, I'd say it will be Pelini.

What about the U of Buffalo coach? I thought he was a shoe-in for the NU gig.

    Other thoughts:

I would add UCLA to the list above. Dorrell's had his shot. He's done.

Also, Washington State is sure to can Doba if they lose the Apple Cup today.

Two names that will no doubt show up during coaching searches: Gary Barnett and Glen Mason.

If I were a betting man, I'd have bet $20 on Pelini becoming a head coach each year starting in 2004.

    I'd owe $80 by now.
