Why do the national media now own sports scoops?

    It's also harder for locals to work on something separate and under-the-radar, because so much day-to-day stuff is done en masse (out of necessity and accommodation of players/coaches often, not laziness). Someone strays from the pack, it's noticeable. A national person air-drops in, no real pattern to movements, harder to discern what that person's working on.
