I'd be willing to say so, even without reading hardly anything else. Dude's not even funny.

Not the best, not the worst. It's not Dan Wetzel by any means, but it's not brutal.

    I'd vote for this:

Adelson is usually great, spot on. But I think he sunk to an all-time low on this one. He went to a place I didn't think he could go.

This story made me think: Do you think sports writers sometimes adapt their writing to a fanbase? Adelson tells Red Sox fans to panic. Why? Because the joke today is that every Sox fan is on a bridge somewhere ready to jump. Do you think he's buying into that notion that Sox fans are quick to overblow things and he's trying to use that to his advantage?

If that's the case, he failed. Sure, some Sox fans are that way. But most are thinking today: 'Well, we lost to Verlander, the Cy and the MVP, but we gave both him and Valverde a fight. Arguably the best starter-closer combo in baseball and we still almost won.'

Just more evidence that we sportswriters have come to believe we're actually a part of the story.

  6. When assigned to a game involving a Boston team, Adelson basically just plugs the team names and final score into his "Panicking Boston fans!!!" template: http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=ea-bruins_stifle_lightning_051911
