Zombie newspapers using AI

I heard an NPR story about fake AI publishers using it to create fake e-books to fool customers into thinking they were buying a bestseller, only to discover they bought a jumble of words related to the author or title, - but this is new to me.

Newspapers no longer in business having their titles used with AI-created content attached to bylines of real journalists who have nothing to do with the story. There used to be a "line of demarcation" between the actual news I'd see in my Google News aggregation and the "stories you may like" based on my preferences. I'm guessing that line will soon be indistinguishable.
