U.S. soldier arrested by North Korea

Sure. No one here has any clue of what happened or who the guy is other than what CBS reported.

Just like the Carlee Russell thing.

No one forking knows, so the "just another asshole" comments etc., are uninformed and childish.

I don't believe Marines are given a rank until they complete boot camp. Until then, they're "recruit."

There's not. Both ranks are Private. The PAY GRADE is E2 and the abbreviation is PV2.

Army Regulation 600-20, table 1-1.

Thumbsup. I was fooled by some bad googles. Like I told them, "I've never ever heard of a Private Second Class, but if you say so ...."

I have no more sympathy for this goober than I do the idiots who try to pet a grizzly bear at Yellowstone.

I was just coming here to ask the same question Justin did. That's good to know. Wish I had you around when I asked a guy what he retired as. He gave me his pay grade which I hadn'ta clue what that meant so I did the Google chart. Pretty sure the guy didn't retire as a major or colonel or whatever I called him.

Can someone explain to me how North Korea survives? I know they have black market operations and print American dollars. But how does a backass country ruled by a dying drunk remain stable?
