Ok. You’ve got 2 tickets to 2 concerts

1. Dead & Co at the Sphere in Vegas

2. DMB at Red Rocks

or

Jason Isbell at the Ryman

or

Billy Strings at the Ryman

And @Chef2, DMB used to play much longer jams but they've cut back on them as they've aged. Carter is in his 60s now. Go see them while they are still touring.

I had no idea Beauford was 65.
Son of a bench, I feel ancient.

At some point in the mid-1990s, I was walking down Beale Street one Friday afternoon and ducked into BB King's to use the bathroom. I came out and heard somebody just wailing on the guitar. I go check it out and it's BB himself. There were less than 100 people in the room. He played for about 90 minutes, ran through all his classics and a lot of blues standards. One of the best accidental concerts I ever attended.

There are a million stories of John Mellencamp popping into one of the bars in Bloomington, Ind., unannounced and playing a few songs. Just never when I was around.

1. The Grateful Dead anywhere in the late 1970s.

2. This one I've already done but would love to do again -- Springsteen at JazzFest maybe six years ago (when Tom Morello was playing with him the whole tour).

While 75% of what I listen to is the Dead, I have no desire to see Dead & Co., particularly in the Sphere.

Wow, great thread.

For me:

Monterey, for Jimi and The Who, and maybe the Allmans at Filmore East.

I went to see Tedeschi Trucks last night in Toronto (unreal show) and there were loads of Dead shirts and more than a few from shows at the Sphere.

Just snagged Ricky Scaggs tix at the Birchmere.

That might fit the bill for a hillbilly from a dirt road in middle Alabama!

Holy shirt, I'm stoked!

Only one accidental concert in my life: New Year's Eve 1998.....went to a swing dance lesson with some friends which ended early and was lame...but playing across the hall was Blue Oyster Cult! They let everyone in for free and there was like 20 people in the audience. They played all their hits.

What, nobody wanted to claim Keith Urban in a gas station parking lot?

My accidental concert: when I was in college a group of us went up to Vancouver for the World's Fair. We were in Stanley Park when we heard a crowd in the distance. We followed the sound… and found Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seeger playing in an an amphitheater in the middle of the park.

1. In the building for the recording of "Stop Making Sense"
I came close to this one — they played the Long Beach Arena a couple of days before they filmed the movie at the Pantages. I was at the Long Beach show.

So, my choices…

Still active, it could happen:
Paul Weller - somewhere in London. I may drive over to California to see him next month, which would be close enough.
Bob Mould - First Avenue in Minneapolis. Been a fan for years but never seen him live.

Alternately… not active, bloody unlikely:
The Smiths, anywhere
Split Enz, anywhere
