    NYC transit question

Thanks for all the help and advice, everyone. I've studied the subway system map and feel like we're good to go. I really appreciate all the replies my request. Thanks again to all.

    NYC transit question

I'm taking the family to New York City for a few days this week and wondered about the transit system. We've used Boston's T, the Metro in Washington D.C., the TTC in Toronto and the Metro in Montreal and never once felt unsafe. What is everyone else's opinion of using public transit in NYC...

    50 take buyouts in Harrisburg

New Patriot-News SE is Paul Vigna, who comes back to central Pa. after 10 years as an ASE at the Philadelphia Daily News. He used to be the SE at the York Daily Record in the mid-to-late 1990s. Good guy to work for, by all accounts I've heard.

    ECHL's Augusta Lynx "ceases operations"

I didn't say he was the "best" writer on their staff. Re-read my post. I said he was the "beat" writer on that paper covering the team he eventually went to work for. Never read a word of the guy's work. Just remember he went from the press box to the team management box.

    A question about Sonic

Sorry to have dredged up an already-beaten-to-death topic, but I didn't know the answer, and I figured maybe some other Sonic newbies (or SportsJournalists.com newbies, for that matter) might learn something from my curiosity.

    ECHL's Augusta Lynx "ceases operations"

I believe this was the team where the beat writer from the Augusta Chronicle quit and eventually became the GM. Anybody remember that? And was he still working there?

    A question about Sonic

OK, so a Sonic opened near my home about a year ago, and usually I grab something at the drive-thru on my way to work or wherever. The other night I went and parked there to eat with myy wife and daughter. We ordered and the car hop came with our food. I paid and she left. Suddenly it hit...

Anybody on here from (or familiar with) the state of Michigan?

Thanks to all. Hadn't thought of Rob Deer in quite some time. That card made me laugh. That guys was one of the biggest feast or famine players ever: a homer or a strikeout.

Anybody on here from (or familiar with) the state of Michigan?

I know someone who has to make the drive between Flint and Lansing this coming weekend for a business trip. What's the ride like on I-69? Anything cool along the way, or pretty much a snoozer? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

    Heard a rumor about Harrisburg

Anybody out there know whether Newhouse announced plans to trim the newsroom at the Harrisburg Patriot-News? Somebody told me they had already offered buyouts. Any takers in sports?

    Plantar fasciitis

Instead of expensive orthotics, I just use "Dr. Scholl's Advantage Arch Supports." They're blue with a red bottom. Got a set for every pair of sneakers/shoes I own. It really makes a difference.

    Plantar fasciitis

I was diagnosed with it nearly three years ago. It took two cortisone injections and orthotics in my shoes to clear it up, but I haven't had any pain since. And I remember that morning pain. God, it killed getting out of bed each day. Hang in there. You'll kick this with the right treatment.

On assignment - weird places you have filed from

My first job out of college in 1989 was covering preps at a suburban Philadelphia daily paper. That fall, I was covering a football game on a Saturday night that was delayed for quite some time by a thunderstorm. The stadium was about a 25-minute drive from our office, and I had planned to go...
