    Blogging can be fatal

I apologize to the readers of this thread for revisiting this issue again. However, but I came across this story online about this issue and I felt the concerned readers -- especially reporters and bloggers -- of SportsJournalists.com would like to read from a reporter who is close to the issue...

    Blogging can be fatal

My bad and I sincerely apologize to Mr. Petty for my gross misinterpretation.

    Blogging can be fatal

Well, Mr. Petty, if you don't have any compassion, a feel for the thoughts of the bowling fans in Texas, nor the reputation of a seemingly loyal, old former employee, then the abusive sentiment you passed on is equally sent back your way. I don't think this is a joking matter -- and profanity...

    Blogging can be fatal

http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/bowling/ Satisfied now (after looking at the above website)? This individual was apparently axed for erroneous reasons -- the attributions are there. So why was he canned? Any way to the skeptics, there was a "snake in the grass" for this writer. His...

    Blogging can be fatal

There may have been an underlying cause for this individual's dismissal. Apparently, this newspaper wanted to eliminate bowling for its pages period. Since this writer has been let go in November, there has only been one item concerning bowling -- and it referred to a bowler who nearly had his...

    The "Homer" sports writer

You may be right, but "we" and "our" should be terms used by fans, not the media. And, every thing can't be totally positive (as far as news is concerned) in any professional organization.

    Fans on courtside

It's tough love, and money prevails over a reporter's comfort at courtside or on the sidelines.

Gannett Honolulu union prepares to strike

It doesn't seem like a great idea -- especially the way newspapers are trimming employees. Keep your fingers crossed as far as the union being successful :).

    The "Homer" sports writer

Hey, try reading the newspaper or listen to the local television stations in San Antonio -- there hasn't been any thing said negative about its professional basketball team (the Spurs) in the last five or six years. And, the TV reporters refer the team as "we". Really objective, huh!

    Blogging can be fatal

    D. Powell writes on regrettheerror.com, posted Feb. 14, 2007: It hurts me to think that when people want to know about bowling in San Antonio that there will be no place to find it. What hurts the most is that the Express News doesn’t consider bowling worthy of being in there paper :(. After...

    Blogging can be fatal

Did anyone stop to analize if this good man was having a day when “old timers” syndrome had kicked in? Maybe he has a brain illness that causes forgetfulness? Don’t beat the man before he is examined!

    Cuts in Newport News

Darn, will the bleeding in the newspaper industry ever stop across the country? Too bad the situation can't be reversed -- like cutting management!!
