Still working for the idiot publisher...

You're right, and all I can say is this: I've always worked for real journalists and editors. These are the people who have been in the trenches and hold dear the rights of the press and freedom of speech. I was in the military and I gave an oath to protect and defend the Consitution against all...

Still working for the idiot publisher...

I can understand why you'd say this, but all of it is true. Every last one of them. I wish I were lying or embellishing... That's why this is so stressful and frustrating. The guy's not a journalist in any way, shape, or form, but he says he "has a background in journalism", like a high school...

Still working for the idiot publisher...

Oh my gosh, thank you for understanding! I've always had nothing but the utmost respect for my prior editors, etc. They all paid their dues in the newsroom and were great mentors and teachers. But it's SO hard to have a publisher who "thinks" he's a journalist because he did it in high school...

Still working for the idiot publisher...

He would never come here. He lives in a world entirely different than the rest of us and he's really not a journalist, even if he thinks he is because he worked on his high school paper. I feel the worst for the reporter under me who was forced to write articles that violated both his ethics...

Still working for the idiot publisher...

As the topic title says, still working for the idiot publisher. And... He had my writers do so many anti-LGBT articles the readership is down to nearly nothing. Now realizing what he's done, he comes to me yesterday and hands me an editor's note he wants me to post. I didn't write it so why's...

Paying for it or getting it for free

Nope, but it separates the wheat from the chaff. I don't want to do this stuff, which is why I put such a high price on it.

Paying for it or getting it for free

I've been a professional writer longer than I care to remember and people are ALWAYS asking me to write things for them. Obituaries, family newsletters, cover letters, Christmas letters, speeches, ads for Craigslist... You name it, I've been asked to do it. And I always say a big, fat "No" to...

What do you do if you work for an idiot publisher?

And his bete noir law was passed locally last night so now I get to listen to him rant on that for months and tell me to do this story or that story so his angst can be shed in a public forum in an area that will judge us harshly. I need a new job.

He doesn't come on here. This is a place for real journalists and the fakes get caught pretty quickly. He couldn't hold his own on here at all.

He's got the diploma hanging on his office wall. I think his biggest problem is he comes from money and he believes he's better than everyone. He also lived and worked in Manhattan for most of his adult life and feels those of us in Central Ohio are a bunch of under educated bump kind and...

What do you do if you work for an idiot publisher?

Exactly. I wish I'd listened better during the interviews. I'd have caught him in a lie. He did he wrote for his college paper. However, my college. Paper wouldn't allow anyone on the paper who wasn't carrying a major pertaining to it.

What do you do if you work for an idiot publisher?

The guy in legal handling this finally got the publisher to admit he wrote it. Then he follows up with, *I read thru thus and only see one or two things wrong with it." Mr. Legal wasn't even supposed to come in today because his nephew is having life saving surgery, but he came in to try to...
