Darth will be on KTCK live at 8:10 a.m. Central to talk about "the future of the Dallas Morning News."

Listen live at: http://www.theticket.com/listen.htm

P.S. Bring some Dramamine. Some serious spinning lies ahead, no doubt.

The DMN in five years: "A really viable paper, but different."

Mong says even after the buyouts, the DMN will still have the largest news staff and budget in the South and Southwest.

He says all the DMN's critics are "vested in the paper" and says that's great.

He also played the page card. DMN sports = 14 pages, USA Today = 12 pages.

Other than that, he talked a lot about Al Dia, Quick, the website, reaching younger subscribers, etc.

Nice irony here: While Mong was on the radio telling the world how the DMN was still a great newspaper despite firing and losing many, if not most, of its best folks, the Star-Telegram was getting the scoop on the Rangers firing Buck.
