The Billings Gazette, Montana's largest newspaper in the Northern Rockies' largest city, seeks a journalist with sharp news judgment, strong copy-editing skills, a flair for headline writing and an ability to design clean, compelling news, feature or sports pages. This isn't strictly a fix-the-commas job; we're looking for someone who is eager to bring his/her strong skills and desire to work collaboratively with section editors, reporters and photographers to bear on a great news organization. (Someone who can do all that and then enjoy skiing, hiking, fishing, bicycling, kayaking, hunting, etc. in Montana's great outdoors will fit in nicely here.) Daily newspaper experience and familiarity with InDesign is important. The 48,000-circulation Gazette provides competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package. Interested? Send us a letter explaining why you're the best one for the job. Include a resume and at least six editing/headline samples and six page designs, and mail it to Steve Prosinski, Editor, The Billings Gazette, P.O. Box 36300, Billings, MT 59107-6300, or e-mail sprosinski@billingsgazette.com.
