I'm re-entering the job market after many years of being out of it and I'm afraid my job hunting skills are rusty.
In applying for reporter/writer positions, I'm reading on here the cover letter is critical. I've sent out numerous applications to various outlets and am finding I'm not getting much response.
Some of it could be attributed to my apparent age, not being fresh out of college, but I can't help but feel a better cover letter would make the difference.
I'd like to have my cover letter critiqued (and I'm almost afraid of the response, but I need the help so I'll put on my bullet-proof vest) and I'm wondering, is this the appropriate forum for this? Would I be able to post it here and receive a critique and suggestions?
