Posted on Romensko earlier... An editor, a cop and a 26-minute patrol car tape:

Discuss.

I thought the female cop was pretty dumb. I wonder if she was flirting with the guy or something.

Interesting that nothing was mentioned about whether the editor would face any punishment for apparently using his influence to get out of a DUI rap and by seeming to promise to reciprocate.

Aspen has two newspapers?

And constantly embroiled in a sniping war. Both are free, and basically exist to run ads, discuss snow conditons, and follow real estate dramas. And bike thefts. Lots of bike thefts.

The ADN is always in trouble for running stories that tick off the advertisers, and is frequently banned from various locales.

AT likes to hoot about the ADN's troubles.

Both are found in messy piles at every restaurant and bar and street corner.

As for the cop and the reporter in the car....oy.

This is what I wanted to know, too. What happened to him?

Definitely some holes in the reporting. A lot of that going on around here these days.
